I’ve been working on a series of black & white photographs for several years now, but it wasn’t until we moved to California that I considered making them in color. I’ve been working on that recently and am enjoying the results. There’s something about the light in California that makes one appreciate the subtleties that would otherwise go unnoticed. Even though the photographs I make are exclusively with a flatbed scanner in my darkroom, the California light is in there somewhere!
In addition to making photographs I work as a librarian, where I get to organize data and make resources easier to find. When I’m not at work or in the studio you can find me roller skating on the Venice boardwalk or walking around Marina del Rey.
